The founder of Genki Ryu Do (SOKE) is Han Shi Felix Revette of Port Byron, New York. The Hombu or headquarters school is in Weedsport, New York and has been there for 22 years.

Soke Revette founded this system because so many of the other various Martial Arts Systems lacked what he thought Martial Arts was all about. Martial Artist should strive to eliminate many of the problems of today’s society: self-admiration, egotism, and greed. They should strive to continue to learn and grow in the Martial Arts; not to stagnate having reached the sought after goal of Black Belt. One continues to grow at a more advanced level after achieving Black Belt. A high degree of fellowship among Martial Artists should be present. These things were lacking to one degree or another in many of the other organizations he was member of. So with much turmoil he formed his own organization that did not just include one art, but many different Martial Arts under its title. Such arts as Tai Tzu Chang Chuan Kung-Fu, taught by the 37th Patriarch Soke Dai William Seibert. Other arts include Kali Escrima Silat, Aikijujutsu, Aikido, Judo, Jujutsu, Kobudo, Iaijutsu and others. As Genki Ryu Do Martial Arts Systems continues to grow, it affiliates with other major organizations.

Soke Revette holds an internationally Recognized 10th Degree Red Belt and Soke Dai currently holds 8th Degree Black belt in Genki Ryu Do.

No matter what art you learn under this system of Martial Arts you will see the correct culture of the art being observed with all the correct discipline of that art. Whether you are just starting this art or have been in it for awhile, you will see a difference in your abilities, confidence, energy, defense, discipline, mental concentration.

Under the Genki Ryu Do Karate you will see Traditional Shotokan Katas and techniques up to the Green and Stripe level then the art goes into the grappling and throwing of Jujutsu. Throughout the art, but more prevalent in the Brown Belt levels, are the flowing and controlling elbow, wrist and holding locks of Akiki Jujutsu. Japanese language for techniques and protocol will be observed throughout the training.
